BIOGRAPHY


At 18 Scott Stahlecker caught a bus to California. For a few months he slept under a picnic table before becoming one of the top professional vertical roller skaters in the US. His skating has appeared in a number of magazines and newspapers, as well as on television. Photos of this period can be found in the photo galleries.

In 1986 Scott earned a degree in Religion. While in college he met his wife Gena. The Stahlecker’s had two children before traveling to Iowa where Scott worked as an associate pastor. Scott eventually parted ways with organized religion, and writes about this experience in his second book
How To Escape Religion Guilt Free.

Between 1986 and 1989 Scott spent four years in the US Army in Frankfurt, Germany working as a tactical satellite system’s operator.

Between 1996-1998 Scott taught English at a private institution, and then at Wonkwang University in South Korea. While teaching he wrote the first draft of the novel
Blind Guides.

In 1999 he and his wife founded Circle of Life Hospice in Austin and Circle of Life Hospice Foundation. Through the years Scott has also worked with a number of charities and non-profit organizations to include: The River Art Group in San Antonio, Texas, and the Foundation for the Homeless in Austin, Texas.

Scott is currently engaged in a number of projects. He recently completed his third book and is in the process of recording his own music CD. Scott also owns two music stores, and works with other musicians with recording and studio work.

He and his wife reside in Alaska.
